Unfortunately, this post is not going to be a positive one.
Interesting concept of a Chocolate Calzone for breakfast, which may not actually be that great.
I have been wanting to try out this cafe since the first time I saw when passing through Victoria. It looked really cute from the outside and I have to say, it looked cute in the inside too. It had this friendly and welcoming vibe to it, with it's rustic and floral style interior.
However, when you look closely at the details, it was just.. artificial? a cover up? (Can't seem to find the right word for it).
There was a differentiation in plate types and colours and the mugs and cutlery did not complement the overall aesthetic of it all. Plus, the mug with my coffee in it had coffee stains around the rims, which doesn't exactly scream hygienic - were they even washed properly?
Service was REALLY slow. Specially since we were literally the only customers in the cafe (we went on Monday morning). The waitress seemed really nice but just not very good at her job.
Food was also underwhelming. The croissant was definitely not fresh, it felt and tasted like it was about to go stale.
The chocolate calzone was meh.. [pictured above] there really wasn't anything special to it. I'd say the portion was alright but for breakfast, it's too much bread and chocolate for the start of the day.
The Americano was tasteless. Despite the smoothness of the coffee, it was practically water with a bitter aftertaste, it didn't even have that coffee aroma which I cave for - just completely disappointing.
Anyways, here are the photos:
