Hong Kong Day 2

Day II of the Hong Kong series and today, we're going to Macau!

We had an early start today - we even skipped breakfast!
We took the ferry towards Macau, which was an hour journey.
If you're travelling from Hong Kong, make sure to bring your passport because you're going to have to go immigration/ passport control to and fro.

As soon as we got to Macau, we really felt the Portuguese influence, from the signs to the architecture. We took the bus from the port towards the city centre. We headed straight to Senado Square and St Dominic's Church and took some photos there.

We ended up having brunch at a nearby multi-story market place, which was very nice because you could really feel the local vibes and "authentic" Macau Food.

I ordered beef congee, pork chop bun and a black jelly drink. It was all really good!

Afterwards, we headed towards the Ruins. On our way, we bought some souvenirs and Hong Kong almond pastries and cookies. I would definitely recommend their almond pastries - they're amazing. I bought some for my mum and my sister and they finished the whole box in an instant.
Once arriving at the Ruins, we stayed at the bottom and took photos there. We didn't want to go up the steps just because we didn't have enough time and it was too hot.

Casino hopping was up next. Our first stop was Oceanus, where we had our lunch.
We then quickly went straight to the MGM Grand to take photos with the golden lion, the famous Praca Atrium and the golden tree/ monkey.
We finished off by watching a short fountain display.

The best part of the Macau trip was the Macau Tower - I love me some #views.
I would love to come back and go bungee jumping here some time. I couldn't go this time because it's so expensive - approximately £300.

Our last stop of the trip was the Venetian Casino. I have to say, it is one of the most beautiful casinos in Macau. The ceiling was amazing, they made it look like the sky, and the gondolas were a nice touch - it definitely looked like the real Venice.

On our way back to the B&B we got a bit lost. After getting off the ferry back in Hong Kong, we realised we were in a different port to the one we departed earlier that morning.
We had to walk down the riverside and get a different ferry to get back.
It was long but the McDonald's at the end really made it better - McDees everyday lol.

One of the highlights of the day was the release of Pokemon Go in HK - I know, I'm nerdy.
We ended up sleeping at 2am because people kept putting lures in the Pokestop, which was near our B&B.

That concludes Day II. Very eventful day, I have to say.
